Ah Friday...

Emerson week 3 smiles

I love Fridays. It means the weekend is coming and on the weekend I get to hang out with my wonderful husband, we spend more time making better food, we get to go to the farmers market, we may play in the yard. And today is the first plan old summer feeling day since the Bug came. Not too hot yet, just feeling perfect to me.
Last night we had dinner on the porch for the first time in a while. The last times I really remember eating on the porch are right before we knew I was pregnant. When I thought I might be but was trying hard not to anticipate. Because what did I know about any of that? And then the first trimester ate up my memories of the end of summer last year...
So anyway, yesterday before making (or at least starting) that lovely dinner I took care of the laundry and did the dishes. Today during the naps I haven't done anything like that. I have been sewing... Can you believe it? I have made three log cabin blocks; cut, sewn and pressed! I am only back here by the Bug because he was fussing more and more over the monitor and I figured he was bound to wake up any minute and I didn't want to have to jog two flights of stairs with him in a panic.
So this weekend I may actually finish the pillow cover that I have been thinking about since we got home from the hospital. And then, I may actually show you all pictures of it. Pretty swanky, eh?

I just printed some pictures of Bug and also downloaded a few of Kent to also print. Your seat bottom came yesterday. That sounds funny, maybe your car seat base came, so you and the Bug may visit during the week or perhaps, Grandma and Grandpa will be able to take the Bug for a ride...

Grammy is working on another swaddling blanket for Emerson...And I have a yellow and white stripped flannel that I will bring up in June...lovely boy..

 Becky and I set out to make a couple of Robinia sweaters in mid-March, which took two months to complete.  Just yesterday, I wove in the ends and wore it.  I'm afraid to block it.   Specs: The Robinia has been making the rounds.  I couldn't see buying the tons of yarn it would take to create the three-strand yarn the designer used, but Becky found this chainette cotton blend, Cantata , that seemed perfect. I've recently realized that making the exact color combination that I liked in the first place is not a bad thing.  It means I get the garment I really loved in the first place. Mods: I made a size XS/S even though I could have made the M according to the designer but everything I knit comes out bigger than expected, even when I gauge swatch right on target.  (I think the blocked weight of the garment just is so much more than the swatch is what causes this, but it's just a theory.)  I didn't wrap any of my floats and it remains to be seen if I'll regret tha

Happy 200 posts to me! I can't believe that two years ago I started writing this because I was wanting to craft and be part of the amazing crafting/blogging community I had discovered. These amazing , vivacious artists , mothers and creators . Everyday I would read their blogs and be blown away by beautiful pictures of wonderful things that they were creating. And they had other jobs like being mama or owning a shop. I was inspired! And then we moved into this wonderful house and a month later Senor gave me a sewing machine.
