Laying up with Mr Wheezey

I stayed home today in an effort to convince my giant foot that there is no reason to be growing a lemon for an ankle. I have some kind of ridiculous staph infection that is making it damn near impossible to walk... Not being able to walk makes everything else much harder. I can certainly understand why people like single level homes. The weirdest thing about this is I have had the same thing happen in the other foot. Who gets two of these kind of strange infections? In other news, Mr Wheezey (the kitten formerly known as "Tiny Kitten") is still living in our basement bathroom. Are you people advertising this kitten to friends or what? No comments at all on a post with a picture of a tiny kitten! Heartless fiends! The lot of you! Pretty soon Mr Wheezey is going to need a committee to help find it a home- please spread the word. Just to make sure you understand the need of Mr Wheezey for a new home I will place pictures of him again as soon as I hobble all the way do...

Anybody need a Tiny Kitten?

Someone brought us this Tiny Kitten this morning thinking it might be Sydney... It isn't. It is a very Cute Tiny Kitten despite the scummy appearance. I would be willing to wash it for you if you want it. Any takers?

Whew~

Things seem to be moving at the super fast rate instead of the normal one. I feel like I can't keep up. I have been feeling a little wonky anyway and then add on top the fast forward feeling... I finished the crochet part of my hat project and just have to throw it in for felting... I am nervous to do the felting part but I think this weekend I will just get over and try it. This weekend I also have a crochet class in Hamden where I should learn to make little creatures out of yarn. How cool is this whole crochet thing? Next I will make a car. In other, very sad news, I believe we have lost our cat Sydney. We have put up fliers and made a report with the SPCA but I think he slipped out with us on Friday and we were gone all weekend. I just don't see him coming home if he hasn't already... Sebastien is sooo sad. He cries and cries and cries. I don't know what to do.

Early and Late

A few birthday gifts got to their new homes this week. Arriving about a week early, this bag found my mother- It is from this book . I will say the pattern directions seemed to skip a few steps and I was glad I had already made some other bags from her instructions so I noticed that I was missing something. Still, it was very easy and I hope you will use it up Mom. I can always make another one if you want something "nice" to carry around. Happy Birthday and thank you for being the best mother a girl could ask for! The other birthday gift was late because I wasn't sure the exact day he would arrive. And I wanted to make sure his big brother had some fun things to play with too. The cat is similar to the first one I made for Kent. I got the pattern from Green Kitchen's blog and only changed it the tiniest bit. Click on the pictures to see more!

Cats outside

Image
Last night we sat on the porch and had dinner (thanks for the great red sauce recipe Cindy !) and drank an entire bottle of wine. It was just the perfect temperature outside. We had pasta with red sauce that included artichoke hearts, veggie crumbles and yummyness. We let the cat's out to enjoy the evening air. Syd is always trying to escape... Sebastien is just always looking mesmerized.

Tired Puppy

Image
(This picture is from Christmas because there has been no sun to take good pictures in months.) Zo is still worn out from her weekend trip to Grandma B's house. In order to keep her record as "Most Beat Up Puppy In Town" Zo got a big ol' swat and scratch on the cheek from Grandma B's cat Charlie. I could hardly get her to go in the backyard yesterday after work. She came and got in bed with me at eight last night (I was working in bed.)

A few things...

These are my Good Fortune Cat towels that I made. I made some for Sharon's new place too. Seńor made the shape pattern for me by looking at our plates. Then I embroidered the faces (I am not very good at this) and used the machine to stitch them to the towels. The other one has red thread for the face. I like them both. Sebastien got shaved this past week and hadn't been feeling well. He is better now. I have never seen another cat sleep like this though. He looks like a chicken to me. Does your cat sleep face down?

In the Mail

Image
The mail has been good to our home the last couple weeks. Last night I came home and found this wonderful painting waiting for me. It is from my grandfather Jerry! He knows how much I love cats and so he painted it just for our new house. We are going to hang it up downstairs near another cat poster where John makes lots of music! Here is a picture of it near its new home. Doesn’t it look nice?! The other things that have come in the mail were from Joel and Lisa. We got the cutest egg whisk and saucepan and a lovely pottery vase. Sydney even got something nice out it! Other wonderful things have come in the mail but we wont be able to talk about them until after tomorrow because someone is having a birthday!
