Whew~

Things seem to be moving at the super fast rate instead of the normal one. I feel like I can't keep up. I have been feeling a little wonky anyway and then add on top the fast forward feeling...
I finished the crochet part of my hat project and just have to throw it in for felting... I am nervous to do the felting part but I think this weekend I will just get over and try it.
This weekend I also have a crochet class in Hamden where I should learn to make little creatures out of yarn. How cool is this whole crochet thing? Next I will make a car.
In other, very sad news, I believe we have lost our cat Sydney. We have put up fliers and made a report with the SPCA but I think he slipped out with us on Friday and we were gone all weekend. I just don't see him coming home if he hasn't already... Sebastien is sooo sad. He cries and cries and cries. I don't know what to do.

Aww, poor Syd. Sounds discouraging, but maybe he'll come home. Give Sebastien and Zo extra squeezes. =)

That is very sad. But wait, Kim has an idea...... She has a half trimmed cat that she would be glad to hand over if your house is feeling a little lonely.

Happy 200 posts to me! I can't believe that two years ago I started writing this because I was wanting to craft and be part of the amazing crafting/blogging community I had discovered. These amazing , vivacious artists , mothers and creators . Everyday I would read their blogs and be blown away by beautiful pictures of wonderful things that they were creating. Robinia

 Becky and I set out to make a couple of Robinia sweaters in mid-March, which took two months to complete.  Just yesterday, I wove in the ends and wore it.  I'm afraid to block it.   Specs: The Robinia has been making the rounds.  I couldn't see buying the tons of yarn it would take to create the three-strand yarn the designer used, but Becky found this chainette cotton blend, Cantata , that seemed perfect. I've recently realized that making the exact color combination that I liked in the first place is not a bad thing.  It means I get the garment I really loved in the first place. Mods: I made a size XS/S even though I could have made the M according to the designer but everything I knit comes out bigger than expected, even when I gauge swatch right on target.  (I think the blocked weight of the garment just is so much more than the swatch is what causes this, but it's just a theory.)  I didn't wrap any of my floats and it remains to b...

Chairs

So, we started with these: They were $25 at the Salvation Army for the whole set. I had been looking for chairs to replace the ones we had in the dinning room and knew the going rate for new, nice chairs was $150 to $200 and I knew I didn't have that to spare... So I bought some Amy Butler fabric in a perfect blue and green (it is called "spinach" what could be better for my house?) some black enamel, and some foam. And Seńor and I did this: I think they are gorgeous. Seńor guesses if we sold them we would have to get about $300 a piece to make up time and materials... I love that I now have designer up cycled chairs. I have coordinating place mats and napkins on the way (they are getting held up in the sewing room due to the American Craft Council being in town.)
