a little inspiration

Sweater pants , originally uploaded by Mr & Mrs Speeed . I finally downloaded the pictures to the computer. It was sort of like a million tiny accomplishments happening all over again because it has a couple months worth of photos on it. This is a wonderful thing to relive and shows me just how busy I have been. And knowing that it only takes in the things I have taken pictures of, no dinner making, school work, or business making captured here. Whew. Feels good! Anyway, I think I mentioned that I made sweater pants for the Bug. These are they ;-) I used an old sweater of Seniors which had to be retired due to a hole in the shoulder. I threw it in the wash on hot and dried it on super hot. Then I cut off the sleeves and sewed them together. I followed the Green Kitchen's tutorial very loosely. We all like these pants. They can be used as a diaper cover or over one. They stretch out and have to be washed and dried in the machine so they don't fall down. ...

I wanted something out of natural fabrics that wasn't complicated and left a lot to the imagination. And recently, something he can chew on became one of the things I was looking for. So this bag was supposed to be just a little tiny tote for the weekend when I didn't need all that other worky/gym stuff. Of course, that was how it started out... My first mistake was trying to do homework when I was only half way done with the project. I was trying to give myself motivation to do twenty pages of reading and then I could take a break and finish sewing this simple little thing. But then, my eyes were scanning the pages and my mind saying each word but I was thinking of the handles of the tote. Then I was thinking of the base, how maybe if I sewed a little "T" at the bottom the felt would be strong enough to stand up... and maybe I didn't really like the dimensions, maybe it should fold over. then I could use it taller, or fold it over if I only had a wallet, phone and lip stick in there....
