Have you been wondering if I finished the new baby carrier I was trying to get done before our trip? I am sure you could hardly go about your day not knowing how it was going...

It worked very well. The outside fabric is 100% cotton and has dragonflies on it (bugs for the Bug) and the inside fabric is 100% bamboo so it is cool to the touch and moisture wicking to keep the Bug dry. He fussed for a minute every time I put him in it but passed out shortly after or enjoyed staring up at the sky or ceiling while walking.

I was able to nurse him while sitting or walking which made all the difference and I was able to go pee while on the train alone for 6 hours. It also made walking on the jiggling train easier with his bag in one hand I could still catch myself if I lost my balance and not drop anything.

edit to add: oh right- this is from the pattern from sew liberated that I bought a few weeks ago. It was super easy to make even if it did take me a long time because of the Bug. Without distraction this is an easy afternoon project. There are a few things I would change in the making phase on the next one but I will save the pattern review for when I actually try the changes so I am not just making guesses.

Love the mei tai, I found my way here from sew liberated. I also got this pattern but haven't made it yet. I'd like to use it to carry my 15mth old on my back. I'm just not sure if the fabric she has suggested seems sturdy enough. What do you think? Loved reading your blog and your little bug is adorable. :)

Happy 200 posts to me! I can't believe that two years ago I started writing this because I was wanting to craft and be part of the amazing crafting/blogging community I had discovered. Robinia

 Becky and I set out to make a couple of Robinia sweaters in mid-March, which took two months to complete.  Just yesterday, I wove in the ends and wore it.  I'm afraid to block it.   Specs: The Robinia has been making the rounds.  I couldn't see buying the tons of yarn it would take to create the three-strand yarn the designer used, but Becky found this chainette cotton blend, Cantata , that seemed perfect. I've recently realized that making the exact color combination that I liked in the first place is not a bad thing.  It means I get the garment I really loved in the first place. Mods: I made a size XS/S even though I could have made the M according to the designer but everything I knit comes out bigger than expected, even when I gauge swatch right on target.  (I think the blocked weight of the garment just is so much more than the swatch is what causes this, but it's just a theory.)  I didn't wrap any of my floats and it remains to b...

A short list of thoughts 1. Two trips to the pediatrician in two days is too many. Emerson is a little jaundiced and he'll be fine if they would stop poking him. 2. I find myself wanting to do nothing but stare at him. No thinking, just staring. 3. I can't get over how thankful I am to the two women who stayed up all those hours with us during the labor. I always had someone whispering encouragement, holding my hand, prompting a question, pushing my hair back; whatever I needed. And I had known them prior to this for about an hour... Thank you Ellie and Christi! 4. Finally, I have the best husband on the planet. Because all I can keep up with is this tiny person and he isn't complaining about taking care of everything else.
