Fabric Shower Curtains

I can't believe it took me 32 years to realize that a fabric shower curtain was the way to go.  Pair it with these curtain hooks and you have something super easy to keep clean.  I blame that I had a shower with glass doors for it taking so long for me to figure out this simple solution to one of life's constant problems. :)

 The Usual Suspects

Anjali is finally big enough to wear the dresses I made at my sewing retreat and now I am itching to make more things for her for the Fall and winter.  She is growing so fast- too fast!  Already wearing 6 month clothes and sitting in the jumper and giggling and being so funny and screachy.  I just want to eat her up every day.

Blow!

Emerson gets better every day too.  More and more peace finds the way into our daily lives and I couldn't be more grateful for it.  I try to be more peaceful.  I try more loving approaches.  And now that I am not so totally exhausted by constant fighting I occasionally succeed.  Daily challenges, in every moment, taken one at a time are so much easier than the build up of the unrelenting.

 Interest

My fingers are itching for new yarn.  My mother is coming for her birthday to take a weaving class next weekend!  I can't wait to take and share pictures.  Hopefully we will have something beautiful at the end!

Happy 200 posts to me! I can't believe that two years ago I started writing this because I was wanting to craft and be part of the amazing crafting/blogging community I had discovered. These amazing , vivacious artists , mothers and creators . Everyday I would read their blogs and be blown away by beautiful pictures of wonderful things that they were creating. Robinia

 Becky and I set out to make a couple of Robinia sweaters in mid-March, which took two months to complete.  Just yesterday, I wove in the ends and wore it.  I'm afraid to block it.   Specs: The Robinia has been making the rounds.  I couldn't see buying the tons of yarn it would take to create the three-strand yarn the designer used, but Becky found this chainette cotton blend, Cantata , that seemed perfect. I've recently realized that making the exact color combination that I liked in the first place is not a bad thing.  It means I get the garment I really loved in the first place. Mods: I made a size XS/S even though I could have made the M according to the designer but everything I knit comes out bigger than expected, even when I gauge swatch right on target.  (I think the blocked weight of the garment just is so much more than the swatch is what causes this, but it's just a theory.)  I didn't wrap any of my floats and it remains to b...

Chairs

So, we started with these: They were $25 at the Salvation Army for the whole set. I had been looking for chairs to replace the ones we had in the dinning room and knew the going rate for new, nice chairs was $150 to $200 and I knew I didn't have that to spare... So I bought some Amy Butler fabric in a perfect blue and green (it is called "spinach" what could be better for my house?) some black enamel, and some foam. And Seńor and I did this: I think they are gorgeous. Seńor guesses if we sold them we would have to get about $300 a piece to make up time and materials... I love that I now have designer up cycled chairs. I have coordinating place mats and napkins on the way (they are getting held up in the sewing room due to the American Craft Council being in town.)
