Cuddling your crying infant in bed at 6:30 in the morning comes with such a mix of feelings and thoughts.
First, you are happy to be close when he is distressed.
Second, you think it would have been a good idea for infants to come with a volume knob so as to let poor sleeping husbands snag that last half hour of shut eye before getting ready for work.
Third, you are sure he isn't hungry and so it must be an upset tummy which makes you sad because you know what a belly that hurts so bad you want to scream feels like. You are hoping that he is working it out and the distress will pass.
Of course, then it does pass and you are now the one in distress while your infant becomes completely silent feeling much better immediately. And you must wake the sleeping husband by saying, "Help! Help! I need help!" Upon waking, said husband begins to chuckle and looks around for a way to help. He finds a burp cloth and, still giggling, begins wiping the poo off of your breast, stomach and leg.
But at least you get a shower out of the deal... :)

Yeah, that is the part you forget over time. Nice that you reminded me of it. Like the time a certain male family member threw up all over me while I was seated in a nice restaurant in downtown P-A-P. I forgot about it. until just now...

Reminds me of the time that John decided that my nice new dress need some accessories that only he could provide... but he felt much better after he gave my dress a new look... that only new mothers could appreciate...

Happy 200 posts to me! I can't believe that two years ago I started writing this because I was wanting to craft and be part of the amazing crafting/blogging community I had discovered. These amazing , vivacious artists , mothers and creators . Everyday I would read their blogs and be blown away by beautiful pictures of wonderful things that they were creating. Robinia

 Becky and I set out to make a couple of Robinia sweaters in mid-March, which took two months to complete.  Just yesterday, I wove in the ends and wore it.  I'm afraid to block it.   Specs: The Robinia has been making the rounds.  I couldn't see buying the tons of yarn it would take to create the three-strand yarn the designer used, but Becky found this chainette cotton blend, Cantata , that seemed perfect. I've recently realized that making the exact color combination that I liked in the first place is not a bad thing.  It means I get the garment I really loved in the first place. Mods: I made a size XS/S even though I could have made the M according to the designer but everything I knit comes out bigger than expected, even when I gauge swatch right on target.  (I think the blocked weight of the garment just is so much more than the swatch is what causes this, but it's just a theory.)  I didn't wrap any of my floats and it remains to be seen if I'll regret tha

Loot and Inspiration

I have been the recipient of some amazing things the last few weeks. Cindy brought a big box of her grandmother's old sewing things this past weekend. It was full of wonderful things, many of which I actively knew I needed (how often do you get that lucky?!) The scissors are great, old, heavy, entirely reliable. Almost the moment she gave me the box I had put up the thread holder. Not the day before I had looked in my annoying drawer of thread and thought, "I must do something about this mess!" And then Cindy showed up with all those fantabulous things. And right on top was the thread organizer thing! { You can also see on my inspiration wall a washcloth that Erica knitted? for me for x-mas. It is far to pretty to wash my dirty face. I hung it up instead. Also, that blue thing you can just see the side of Seńor bought me at x-mas. And then there is the embroidery hoop with nothing in it...
