Under Construction

construction 002

Cool things are/have already happened this weekend. Right now Senor is working on a project I can't wait to see the end result of. It is very cool to hear and talk and think about a project for a short while and then have it come together in an afternoon. (well, fingers crossed for the afternoon thing)
We also managed to get a bunch of errands run today (all of the ones we wanted, in fact.) How often does that happen?
At the beginning of our errand running I turned the radio to NPR and Senor turned to me and said, "You know, running errands on the weekend and listening to the radio is one of my favorite things." I thought this was very, very cool as I have a special relationship with doing this as well. When we were kids, we lived in a little community in southern Virginia and every Sunday after church we had to drive about an hour to the next, bigger town, to run errands. It happened to be the hour when Prairie Home Companion was on the air and to me that was the real "church." Garrison Keller always seemed to express something simple and profound and the music and stories are things I carry with me to this day. I couldn't tell you what a single real church sermon was about, but I can still remember tales from Lake Wobegon and Cafe Bouef.
Anyway, I am going to go finish dinner now but I hope tomorrow I will be able to show you some of the cool things we accomplished today.

Yeah, I love NPR any morning, but especially the weeeknd mornings - Scott Simon, the only news guy left that laughs at and with his guests. And People's Pharmacy where they never run out of guests with prestigious titles from medical schools you are sure you've heard of, espousing one or another wack medical 'discoveries.' I am SURE they are all true. It is the Newly Demented of medicine.

Anyway, it is genetic, Lisa likes it too. Not hearing NPR in the morning is the ONLY thing I don't like about motorcycle commuting. I make up for it by listening in the evening.

I hope the project is going well. We have a heated tile floor installed most of the way, can't wait for it to be done and to walk on it.

I am almost always seeing something in the silly word one is required to type in to make comments: Today it is "nobil sin."

yay for heated tile floor and genetics! I hope that means our kid will also enjoy all the weekend offering from NPR for a long time to come.

That's one of our favorite things, too. The nice thing is that you can keep doing it when you have a baby, unless s/he is screaming and you have to turn off the radio to sing his/her favorite song very loudly. =) But mostly, it works out. I always remember hearing the Sunday Puzzle on the way to church, so that's kind of like pre-church to me.

I can't wait to see the results of the construction project!
